Hi, I get 7 hours of continuous YouTube playing on my SP7 (50% brightness, Wifi and battery saver on, Bluetooth off) and pretty much all day usage using Microsoft Office apps. Hope the following "fixes" help you as much as they have helped me:
- Apply recommendations from this webpage, "https://surfacetip.com/ultimate-tips-max-surface-pro-4-battery-life/" If Windows 10 2004 is instilled, #2 is no longer possible.
- Download (and only use) Microsoft Canary Edge Browser (https://www.microsoftedgeinsider.com/en-us/download). In the taskbar type "edge://flags". In the flags searchbox type "Turn off caching of streaming media to disk". Go to the drop-down menu on the right and click "Disabled". Goto the top of the page and on the right click "Reset all". Also, do this for the regular Microsoft Edge Browser.
3. Check for and fix corrupt files.
- In the search box on the taskbar, type Command Prompt, and right-click or press and hold Command Prompt (Desktop app) from the list of results. Select Run as administrator, and then select Yes.
- Type DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth (note the space before each "/"), and then press Enter. (Note: This step may take a few minutes to start and up to 30 minutes to complete.)
- After you see a message that says "The operation completed successfully," type sfc /scannow (note the space between "sfc" and "/") and press Enter.
- After you see a message that says, "Verification 100% complete," type exit.
