Hi,
Anyone has the same issue as me?
When I change brightness with keyboard it does change to 30-50% only (no visible change).
When changing in side swipe, with touch it allows me to change 0%-100% (no visible change)
I tried with nigh mode off... no change
Tried windows setting ... no change
Ambient light On/Off... no change
Can anyone help?

I have installed the latest updates and the diagnostic tool found no problems.
Recently I have been constantly experiencing this brightness problem and nothing seems to help. When I close the typecover and later open it, the brightness of screen will be unable to be adjusted. Of course, a restart can fix this problem, but I don't want to restart my surface every time I run into this problem. Otherwise it will defeat the purpose of closing typecover instead of shutting down in the first place.
Why after nearly a year there's still no official fix for this bug?
Sure, restarting the computer fixes the problem for once. But I don't want to restart it every time the bug occurs!
Thank you, this worked for me too. Though, I had a slightly different problem in that the brightness slider actually disappeared from the display settings. There was also no check box for 'change brightness automatically when lighting changes.' It was just gone. Also, the slider in the system tray was completely grayed out. Everything looks good now after uninstalling the driver and restarting.
I just had this problem of not being able to adjust my screen brightness. I detached the tablet from the keyboard and restarted the tablet. It updated windows and when it re-started...problem fixed.
How do you reboot and wait for them to reinstall?
