Surface Pro 1 on Windows 8.1 reboots when Type Cover 2 is removed

We cannot continue to enable companies to provide low quality support - or no support in this case - by blindly buying their products.

Except it did work when we bought it, they broke it afterwards with updates.

although it did do this occasionally for me on Windows 8. it was worse by 8.1.

Unlike Microsoft, Apple will actually stand by their products and provide real customer support. My experiences with Microsoft hardware, software, bad OS design changes, lack of support, and even their professional contractors and MS certified contractors --- I cannot in good conscience purchase anything from this tech giant :)

But I believe in accountability. And any hardware issuses I have had with Sony, Apple and BlackBerry has been resolved and openly communicated. I happily vote with my money and it isnt like we were all given an early adopters discount on this stuff.

I never had this problem on my Surface Pro 1 until the 8.1 upgrade.  Of course, that could just be coincidental (it took that long before bending the keyboard back and forth caused the issue), but it mighte be relevant.

On the flip side, The Surface Pro 3 does NOT have this problem, and is an amazing device in every single way.  While it's sad and frustrating that Microsoft won't even acknowledge this obviously wide-spread problem, let alone fix it... it is good that their latest device doesn't have the problem at all.  I'd definitely recommend a Surface Pro 3 over a MacBook Air.

Same situation here... upgrade , downgrade , clean contacts , refresh windows , none of them fix the problem (not even improving , indeed , getting worst). Now it crashes multiple times every single day !

The reason I decided to buy this machine , the design of keyboard was one of the major factors (Thanks to those fancy marketing). Now I am about to give this machine up (probably no MS hardware forever , MacBook Air should able to do the job nicely).

To be fair , the machine itself is okay but without the idea of that keyboard , why go for Surface Pro?

The un-stability , this price (price of the keyboard), I would say it is a total ripped off.

Why Microsoft couldn't create machines that is running more stably and smoothly? I am not to asking something out perform all others but just the STABILITY , please!

MS let me down every single time from Palm Treo to Surface Pro.

If you can't fix it by patches or firmware... MS please consider, seriously , recall the keyboard , give us something that is working !

We bought this because we trusted you , respect that trust please !
