Surface Pro7 Frequent Errors and Blue Screen Problems

Dear Microsoft Community,

A week ago I bought a brand-new Surface Pro 7. I am a big Surface fan and was very excited to use my new device for the purpose of my studies.

My system configuration is a Surface Pro 7 with an Intel® Core™ i5 – 1034G4 CPU, 8 GB of RAM and a 256 GB SSD.

I updated Windows 10 to the most recent version and, so far, did not install third-party software on the device. I connected an original Microsoft Surface Pen and a Microsoft Surface Type Cover. No other hardware was connected.

During the usage I soon experienced very frequent Blue Screens and restarts as a result. These Blue Screens happened in tablet mode as well as in desktop mode. As the problems with Blue Screens became so frequent that I was unable to use the device for my everyday work, and their stop codes did not even allow me to trace back the actual error, I became very frustrated.

In the attached pictures I documented a use scenario, where I used my Surface Pro 7 with normal (office and Microsoft Edge surfing) workload. Within this 45 minutes use case scenario, I encountered 6 Blue Screens (1:01; 1:05; 1:11; 1:23; 1:26; and 1:38 pm), all with different stop codes.

Could you please help me resolve this issue?

Tim

Try to disable the Intel Iris Plus Graphic driver in Device Manager .  This was the only way I managed to get the Surface operational, without several video functions, but at least you can use it until you have the opportunity to go to the store to replacement it.

Let me know if this setting stopped with the blue screen error.

Same issue on my Surface pro 7 8gb 256ssd. Just bought on May the 6th 2020. When in a video Skype meeting randomly the system blows up with a blue screen (3 times in a row then I moved to my smartphone) . Right now with the power cable plugged Skype video meeting seems to work, but you know if I have to always keep charging my surface when using Skype, I had bought a desktop.

I also attempted option 4 with no luck since today I changed the option on the Intel graphics center and got the blue screen after 20 mins of video call.

Additionally, it already happened twice, that when going in suspended mode (in battery mode) there is no way to resume it, other than keep pressed the power button for 40 seconds.

Said that I really like surface usability/design/performance /responsiveness and I wouldn't want to return it.

Please Microsoft team recognize that something is going wrong and kindly provide a clear position and action in order to get solved this very spread issue. I'm still believing I bought one of the best convertible 2 in 1 pc, don't tell me isn't true.

I have time till June the 6th in order to take this very sad decision and move to other brands.

I'll do my best to provide additional information through the support channel.

    Thanks

    Giulia

I too had similar complaint, bought it 10 days back...but the blue code error has spoiled........return is also delayed due to CORONA. If I had know this before I wouldn't have bought it...

I am also having this problem. I bought this laptop around December 2019, and I mainly use it for school and communication. The thing is, it just randomly restarts and I tend to lose all my information so suddenly every time. What is the problem going on here? Also, I don't want to reset it, I have countless information that I need for school and work that I wouldn't want to risk losing it.

I am also having this problem.   Bought the system around December, didn't use it heavily, then with the lockdown I started using it heavily for skype.   And it BSOD'd with a Video_Scheduler_Internal_Error.   And then again, and again.  Then the system died and would not boot.  I sent it in to MS and they sent me something back, not sure if it's the same one or a refurb.  Reloaded clean, not much on it.  Played games with friends last night, did zoom with about 6 other couples, twitch.tv, not much else.  It ran fine all evening.   Had a 45 min lunch with 3 friends today on Skype - BSOD'd 3 times.   So for me, it is definitely skype related, either overworking the video subsystem or something else.  Not sure where to go with this.
