First off, it's too bad Microsoft couldn't include Outlook with the other Office products. In any case, I have had no problem configuring my exchange email address on my iPhone, iPad, PC laptop. I've tried all sorts of combinations for server and domain, including the one I use for my iPhone, but not success! Very frustrating.
Suppose my domain name was mydomain. On my iPhone I leave "domain" blank. I put in for server: webmail.mydomain.com.
I've tried that, I've tried addition both mydomain and mydomain.com to domain. I've tried adding https:// to URL and also adding /owa at end (which I need for web log on).
On top of that after trying several combos Mail program presents me with blank screen, and I have to reset to get the screen back.
Not a happy camper!

Opened IE and Internet Options. Under content tab, certificate, Trusted Root, Import and browse to the network drive you pasted the certificate and Import.
this was the key for me.
BTW i added the cert from an email attachemnt not media drive.

Certificates installed properly in "trusted root.." (able to connect to our protected company WLAN), however says he cannot enforce the security policy required by the server for email.
So I got the complete list of our BYOD EAS policy from global Exec support. I can share with a MS guy, but am hesitant to post it on public. One thing, among others, they require is storage card encryption. This could be the blocking issue. Dont understand the policy anyway, since it would let the SD card not work in other devices (e,g. camera).
Looks's like the principal issue is that altough Surface RT is kind of a BYOD (and cannot join a domain), on the other hand it's more a notebook with USB and SD card capabilities for external mem.
Is there a list which EAS policies are supported by Surface RT?

You should not have had to do all that. My SSL worked without those steps and definitely no server drive mappings. But my SSL is from trusted source and not one generated off the server itself. Great work around to the issues, now MS still needs to resolve the known issue.

I've just been successful getting exchange email after 2 days.
You need your server connection (able to view at least 1 drive on server).Map a network drive.
ON SERVER I went to C:\users\public\public downloads and copied and pasted the SBS certificate package to my network folder\drive.
ON THE SURFACE Opened IE and Internet Options. Under content tab, certificate, Trusted Root, Import and browse to the network drive you pasted the certificate and Import.
Worked.
Hope this helps - If not clear enough please let me know and i'll try setting up a step by step list.
I'm not very PC savy but will try help anyone as I know how frustrating it is, especially for us 'dummys'....
