Unable to configure my Exchange email in Surface mail program

First off, it's too bad Microsoft couldn't include Outlook with the other Office products.  In any case, I have had no problem configuring my exchange email address on my iPhone, iPad, PC laptop.  I've tried all sorts of combinations for server and domain, including the one I use for my iPhone, but not success!  Very frustrating.

Suppose my domain name was mydomain. On my iPhone I leave "domain" blank. I put in for server: webmail.mydomain.com.

I've tried that, I've tried addition both mydomain and mydomain.com to domain.  I've tried adding https:// to URL and also adding /owa at end (which I need for web log on).

On top of that after trying several combos Mail program presents me with blank screen, and I have to reset to get the screen back.

Not a happy camper!

    All,

    I've just been successful  gettin exchange email after 2 days.

    You need your server connection (able to view at least 1 drive on server).

    I went to C:\users\public\public downloads and copied ansd pasted the SBS certificate package to my network folder\drive.

    Opened IE and Internet Options. Under content tab, certificate, Trusted Root, Import and browse to the network drive you pasted the certificate and Import.

    Worked.

    Yes i tried this too. I have access to the wireless, can see my server drives (which i mapped) and have internet access as well.... Microsoft tried some things yesterday but we just couldn't get it going. I also had my external IT guys try some things but no luck.

    They used all my settings at there end to make sure login details were all correct and they got in no issues..... so its something to do with the surface...

    I suppose i just need to wait until microsoft find a fix.... Pretty unhappy with microsoft though as email is the main reason why i purchased 2 surface for us at office... i didn't go with an ipad because i "thought" being microsoft (and we use SBS, windows, outlook, word etc) it would be a perfect fit.... Well ... i feel almost ripped! I can't believe they would release it like this....

    I have an active escalated service ticket. They've told me that it's a "known issue" and that they are "working on a resolution."

    I've been trying to get exchange going for 2 days now.... on the phone with microsoft for best part of yesterday... and gave up in the end.... I'm Not really IT savy.. They did copy a certificate yesterday but still not working.....

    Anyone with step by step instructions would be great... seem to have tried all the post's (ideas) but no luck still.
