I had an issue this morning where Surface couldn't find any wifi networks (when 5 were in the area) and it was connected the previous night. I solved this issue by searching windows rt for Network. Open Network Connections, find the wifi device and then disable this connection. After a minute - I re-enabled the connection and then it started to work.
Just wanted to share my experience if anyone runs into the same issue. Thanks!

Thank you for your continued interest, feedback and assistance in investigating the Limited WiFi issue on the Surface.
Not all limited connectivity scenarios have solutions that can be controlled by the Wi-Fi drivers of a given device. Limited connectivity scenarios result from a complex interaction of device Wi-Fi drivers, access point firmware, access point configuration, and other environmental factors.
If following the steps in the provided links below fail to resolve your Wi-Fi issue I encourage you to create a new thread.

You will most likely have to do a REFRESH. Most of us has had to do that. For some reason or another the driver gets corrupted. You may also do a trick that most others have done as well as long as you don't have the 8.1 Preview of Windows 8 RT installed.
That trick is to open the Control Panel and go do Device Manager. Look for the Marvel WiFi adapter and "Uninstall" the driver but "DO NOT DELETE IT". When finished, reboot the tablet and it should connect.
Try that trick first and if it doesn't work, then do a REFRESH.

Sorry to hear you are having problems connecting to WiFi.
You should be able to connect to WiFi. Are you getting any errors when trying to connect? Are you able to see the networks and not connect to them?

2013-04-26T06:04:33+00:00 Looks like in your case, when you put a load on the adapter, the connection drops off and I can almost bet that the adapter will still show 5 bars for signal strength. Next time you try it, take a look at it.
As for connection to routers; all computer network adapters should connect to any router with the exception of special configurations. They are supposed to be universal no matter who makes them because of ANSI standards and the frequency used set by the FCC. If you have an adapter that is set for "N" mode for instance, it will connect to a router that is a, b, g, or n because the adapter will downgrade if it has to, to make connection. The function is a little bit like a modem.
Well, they are looking at the power issue now. I had sent a query in here on the forum and it got passed on so if it is a problem, maybe that will fix these connection problems. If it wasn't for the WiFi connection issues, both the RT and Pro models would be great machines. I was thinking of ordering a Pro model with the type cover/keyboard next month but that is going to be put on hold. Too many issues with these tablets.
I know that I originally gave them until the end of this month to have the final fixes out for these. End of the month is getting near and if there is no resolution, my machine is going to be boxed back up and just put it in a closet and keep it as a souvenir. Who knows, it might be a collectors item in the future and be worth about $10. I only got to use this machine one time and I bought it on the first week of February. Right now, I have an Acer mini-notebook running LinuxMint 14 (Mate) that is doing the job I was wanting the tablet to do. It has no problem in connecting to the router.
