surface book battery drain while shut down

I have been noticing that when I shutdown my surface book, when I power it on the next day the battery has drained some. If I leave it off for a couple of days it will drain down from 100% to around 85% or lower.

I disabled fast startup... and then just decided to disable hibernation altogether. That didn't help.

I have windows hello disabled, but that shouldn't matter anyway since I'm shutting it down, not sleeping.

Some searching and I found a general windows 10 issue with the "Intel Management Engine Interface" driver. Some say that v11 can cause this issue. One solution that I have seen suggested is to go into device manager and in the power management tab for this device uncheck the option that allows windows to power it down to save power. I tried that and it didn't help.

Others have suggested downgrading the driver from v11 to v9 or v10, but I don't know where to get v9 or v10 of this driver that is compatible with the surface book. Anyone know if one of the downloads on Intel's site would be compatible?

So, has anyone else noticed this issue and know of a fix?

    A four percent drain in two days does not seem unreasonable. Is this for both batteries or one? A battery will not stay at 100% even when not in use.

    Really?  Because none on our Latitude E series or Thinkpads do this.  The battery level stays exactly where it was powered down after a week or so.  I do understand there are some drain but only see that when the laptops are left untouched for several weeks.

    The drain is random in that sometimes it's #1,  sometimes it's #2 and other times it's both.  Like over last night, #2 went down 4% while #1 remained at 100% after ~ 14 hrs.

    Did firmware update 1/27/2016.  70% when completely shut down and two days later, 66%!!  Ridiculous!

    MS released a new Surface Book firmware update and there was also a Win10 update.  Firmware came out on 1/27 and I installed both the firmware update and the Win10 update yesterday.  I did the 24 hour shutdown test with these new updates and happy to report that so far I am seeing an improvement.

    Before, I would lose about 5% a day when the SB was shut down.  This time, I only lost 1% total (2% on Battery 1, and 0% on Battery 2.)

    I haven't tested with Hibernate yet, but so far this looks promising.

    I'm curious what others see once they have a chance to install and test.  Fingers crossed!

    Just did a Hibernation test, and only for 12 hours this time.  This time it drained 3% total in 12 hours.  Battery 1 drained 2% and Battery 2 drained 6%.  Ridiculous.  Not only should it not drain this fast when in Hibernate, but why is the tablet battery draining more than the keyboard/base?

    I'll be retesting the shutdown again when I get the opportunity.
