Hello, I solved my "3-minutes disconnection" problem with my Asus T300 CHI (Windows 10 installed).

At first I was thinking the problem was related to the power to the MDA. I tried to power my MDA by the usb 3.0 of my tv (Hisense 43M3000) and also by an usb charger 5V-2.4A... the MDA was powering on with no problem.

At the end I found that the disconnection problem was related to an old network card driver. The network card is an Intel dual band N-7265. I tried to install the drivers using the Asus driver support, than using Windows updates but the solution was at the source: Intel website. After upgrading to 19.20.0.6 driver version (last month update) the disconnection problem disappeared. Now the MDA works like a charm for hours without disconnecting.

    I hope this help.

    1.  I checked the following

    a. Using a Power bank (details here) instead of TV USB port - I used a external power bank (having 2A output) to supply power to wireless  display adapter. It did not switch on. Does it mean the wireless adapter consumes more than 10 W of power ? From the spec of display adapter, it does not seem to be USB2.0 compliant (wrt power). Can any one please else try this experiment?

I did not find any where power consumption of the wireless display adapter. My theory is it may be that some TVs  can provide higher power to Display adapter and some do not.  Whenever power provided is less, it gets disconnected randomly !?

We just introduced the Surface Pro 4's to our teachers in our district with the wireless adapter for the projectors (using Epson projectors).  Our teachers are complaining the during their lessons the projector is disconnecting from the Surface and they need to reconnect and they want to know why?
