I installed the update today but the dGPU disappeared on me after a short time playing.
Surface Book 3 Nvidia Graphics card disappears after updates.
I bought the Surface book 3 a few weeks ago. It just installed some updates and now my Nvidia card has disappeared from the device manger.
It was working properly before the updates go installed so now I am suspecting it's something to do with the windows updates. My surface book hasn't received the latest 2004 windows update yet. I have already gone through the Nvidia driver experience app to manual install the graphics card driver but it says it can't detect any graphics card. I am pretty sure a brand new 3grand machine will not be equipped with a faulty graphics card, because that will be stupid. Will be contacting MS soon. Is anyone else experiencing the same problem.

2021-06-15T20:16:20+00:00 I have noticed with the latest firmware update significant improvements with the gpu drop outs and feel that Microsoft are heading in the right direction… many thanks.
Downloading now and will test tomorrow. I hope it improves things as I am getting very tired of this ‘top of range’ machine not performing.

2021-06-15T19:52:35+00:00 Sorry to hear everyone is still having this issue. I have the Surface Book 3 15" with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti with Max-Q Design.
I have to admit its been getting worst recently. I dont really detach the screen, however its the only general fix when the GPU disappears. Its as if the laptop just loses recognition of the base with GPU, although the keyboard is find. Re-freshing device manager does nothing as GPU not found.
I also find the general screen detach/attach is not that reliable , hence why I dont do this. Weird as my original Surface Book 1 with Nvidia GPU was rock solid no issues.
Think I may try using Nvidia native drivers, and perhaps check for new firmware. I actually spoke to Microsoft chat , what a waste of time. They actually wanted to replace the hardware, really ? No wonder Microsoft loses business, they need to get their hardware and support up to scratch. Its a shame as love the design , screen and keyboard. Will update if I have any success with drivers and firmware .
Looks like a new firmware update dated 14/6.
