It was suggested that I open a new thread for this issue that I am having.
Since the Win 10 Anniversary update, I was not able to turn on my Surface Pro 3 i7 512GB with LGC LGC Battery without having it plugged in with the power supply or docking (I own a total of Three Surface Pro 3 Docks at home and 2 offices). It always said "82%, Plugged in, Not Charging", and would always instantly turn off once I pulled off the power supply tab.
I had spoke with a Technical Agent online, had my Pro 3 remote accessed, did all the proposed solutions, and even had a call from Bellevue, WA (I live in Hong Kong) before I found out that it was a software issue as stated by Microsoft.
With Auto Update turned on, I was notified that I should restart my Pro 3 this morning while I was on the docking station. I was happy that this issue was going to be resolved, but now I am disappointed that this firmware update did nothing for my Pro 3.
I'm hoping that someone out there has some suggestions.

Don't you think it's a little bit absurd to impose a minimum battery level for the firmware fixing the same faulty battery?
Just like many surface owners, I have 0% battery level so I can't install any firmware update completely.
I just wish MS cared enough to at least issue a workaround for this.
By the way, good luck with the surface studio!
Just installed the firmware update. No improvement. Battery still stuck at 75% and not charging.

This fix won't work for me. I have below 40% charge, and my battery will not charge. Windows Update will not allow the install to proceed. Please advise on how to proceed.
I've installed the update and did the double restart as listed. My Surface still experiences the same issue caused by the previous firmware update - as soon as I detach the power, the Surface turns off. Can anyone sound off with the same? Looks like the "fix" wasn't an actual fix after all.
Look like you need to try again Microsoft. Third firmware update's the charm?
Same for me. The update cannot finish and yellow marks for Embedded controllers in Device Manager. My battery is 0% and voltage bellow critical value of 5.8V (2.9V per cell).
I guess Microsoft is in panic when they issued this update.
Just a waste of time for me, very disappointed.
