Lucky you..mine just keeps happening every 10 minutes. It is really starting to piss me off
Bluetooth Surface Keyboard keeps disconnects from my surface book 2
Hi.
The last month, my surface keyboard (External bluetooth version), keeps loosing connection to my surface book 2, if i have been away from the office, or my Surface book 2 has been in standby..... (I have tried to change the batteries in the keyboard)
When it happens (Which is does many times a day), i have to delete the paired surface keyboard on the surface book.. wait about a minute, and the press the pair button on the keyboard, and pair it with my surface book again. Then i works undtil the nex time it has been in standby or i have been away from the office.... I have han the surface book and keyboard 7 months, and have never been a issue before a month ago. (I have tried to run e driver update, and the bluetooth repair, nothing helps.
They funny thing is, that i have a business partner in another company with the same setup as mine, he told med that he has the same issue with keyboard as i have....
Any ideas what our problem is, and are there other with the same issue???

OH my gosh, this has just happened even when I was typing this. It is sooo annoying. The keyboard keeps disconnecting and sometimes the mouse tracker on the screen will disappear too. Then I have to restart the computer and that just kills my working momentum.
I have used the bit locker key recovery and it has not worked or only works temporarily.

2020-12-17T22:36:21+00:00 My situation is the same with the Surface Ergonomic Keyboard and my HP notebook. For a few months it worked fine then the phantom key repeat started and shortly thereafter the disconnect while remaining paired. Microsoft replaced the keyboard only to have it start up again shortly after receiving it. I wish I had seen this thread and this idea when this first happen.
Before seeing this post I downloaded the Bluetooth driver from HP for my model, ran the service pack but it only improved again for a short period of time.
Today, after reading this post. I decided to go to the source and get the driver from Intel. I dug around in system information and driver information to determine that my notebook has the Intel wireless module that includes Bluetooth, model AC 3168. While Intel showed the same driver version available for my model of Intel wireless module, Intel had different instructions.
The key seems to be in Device Manger to choose the Intel Wireless Bluetooth, then the driver tab and then to both uninstall the Bluetooth device AND the chose the optional Delete the driver software for this device before installing the new Intel software.

2020-11-13T18:05:20+00:00 I've had the exact problem for over a year now with my Surface Pro 6 and MS keyboard. The ARC mouse never has an issue, but every time I "wake up" the surface they keyboard is gone. I quite literally (EVERY DAY FOR A YEAR) have had to open the foldable keyboard (so I can use it) disable and re-enable bluetooth and the keyboard then reconnects. It took about 4 months of daily reboots before I figured out toggling BT on/off "fixes" the issue. I quite literally now have a $10 generic mouse that's plugged into the dock. It's only job is to allow me to log in with the "on screen keyboard" so I can toggle BT. This is my 3rd and last Surface pro. (Had a 4, 5 and now 6).

2020-11-02T19:49:39+00:00 Same issue. Dell workstation with silver surface keyboard randomly disconnects ALL THE TIME. Love the keyboard, wish they would make a fix or provide a wireless dongle. Its a $100 keyboard, slightly mind boggling that it doesn't work like every other bluetooth keyboard in the world including ones on amazon for $20.
