Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I  hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

    Ok, seems the karma is against me :(

    I just discovered that, even with the steps described above, if I am listening to music (Groove in my case) and the device screen goes off (not sleep, simply off while music is on), it won't came back. The music stops and everything seems to freeze, and nothing is shown in any screen.

    So it turns out is not so stable after all.

    By the way, all my tests are with 2 monitors connected through the Surface Dock. I use the Surface as my working station... when it works, of course.

    Hey guys,

    Though I still have some issues, I achieved an acceptable state of stability for my SP4. Lot better than before. So just letting you know which were my steps, and in which order.

    1 - Search for updatess in the device, and install all updates until you are up to date.

    2 - Installed "Surface Pro 4 Drivers and Firmware" from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=49498

    3 - Finally, and AFTER the step 2, manuallyinstall the updated Intel Graphics Driver: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25620/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-1-10-15-40-6th-Gen- .     I don't know if MS quietly fixed some hardware issues but my newly exchanged SP4 unit works without sleep issue / display driver crashing.

    My previous 2 units crashed all the time and failed to wake from sleep.  New unit does not have the issues. There is still light bleed.

    It has all the MS updates, but not the intel drivers (I didn't have to install them).
