Surface Book 3 Cracked Screen

I'm joining the cracked screen chorus here. My Surface Book 3 is a little over a year old, but it never leaves the house and seldom leaves my laptop desk. I just read through over a hundred comments that pretty well establish that there is a design flaw in the SB3. Cracks appear in nearly identical locations without any apparent rough treatment. It also appears there is consensus that Microsoft is in denial of any flaw, offering only a refurb replacement at substantial cost.

I'm not a newbie; I've been using laptops since the Tandy Trash 80 days. I expect challenges when cramming powerful CPUs and video cards into lightweight cases. But I got 15 years of trouble-free use out of my high-end ASUS before retiring it.

This clearly is a design problem with the SB3 that should have been addressed by Microsoft when they first learned of it. It will be much more costly to Microsoft's shareholders when it reaches the class-action level.

Meanwhile, I'll go looking for a local shop for a replacement. Afterward, I'll slip a sheet of thin foam over the keyboard when I close it. Needless to say, this will be my last Microsoft laptop.

Jak widać po powyższych postach, nie jest to odosobniony przypadek. Zdaje się wszystkie po pewnym czasie użytkowania mają ten sam problem. Pewną podpowiedzią może być fakt, iż MS już ich nie produkuje. Widać design się nie sprawdził. Na pocieszenie mogę napisać, że po naprawie, czy też raczej wymianie (bo tak to naprawdę wygląda - dostajesz innego takiego samego Surface'a, który ktoś inny odesłał do naprawy), problem się nie powtarza. Widać muszą wiedzieć, co zepsuła fabryka i naprawiają to w serwisie. Najprawdopodobniej chodzi o odpowiednią grubość kleju pomiędzy obudową a ekranem, a grubość kleju oznacza większą elastyczność. Ja swojego naprawiłem jakieś 2 lata temu (mój post po angielsku jest na stronie 2-giej tego wątku). Trzymałem go najpierw w etui UAG, a ostatnio w ogóle bez etui. I nic. Szkoda, że kosztowało mnie to dodatkowo prawie 3000 PLN. W tej klasy sprzęcie i za taką kasę nie powinno się to wydarzyć. No, ale Apple też miało swoje przygody z klawiaturami w Macbookach Pro. Zdaje się, że powinien się tym zająć UOKIK, ale przypuszczam, że u nas problem jest niszowy, bo ile osób kupi lapka za ponad dychę, który w dodatku nie jest produktem firmy Apple. I na tym MS żeruje.

Proszę Państwa w moim Surface Book 3 ekran pękł (wieczorem go zamknąłem rano otworzyłem, bez żadnej obcych przedmiotów) po 2 miesiącach używania. Zgłosiłem problem do Microsoft. Microsoft odpowiedział, że nie widzi w t swojej winy i nie naprawią laptopa w ramach gwarancji. Żenada....

My screen cracked around the camera in 2 different angles and has expanded from the metallic edge across the screen in both directions. Is there any way to fix it? it literally only went in my backpack and did this. I think it's because the laptop does not close level and that angle puts excess pressure on the top of the screen.

I've just experienced the same problem with my Surface Book 3 and I do have other reported quality issues as well as the GeForce grapchis card disconnecting randomly, way to high DPS latency values and constantly short freezes without any related CPU loads
