Microsoft Surface Duo 2 unusable due to faulty May update 2023.425.15 - system crashes
After the last update of the Surface Duo 2 smartphone, it behaves unusually, such as very delayed response up to freezing of the screens or apps as well as strong heat development and high battery consumption.
Since yesterday 04.06.23, system crashes have occurred continuously and the smartphone enters Android Recovery mode after each crash.
"Android Recovery - surface/duo/duo2 - 12/2023.425.15 / ... - user/release-keys - Use volume up/down and power - Android system cannot be loaded. Your data may be corrupted. If you continue to receive the message, you may need to factory reset your device and delete all user data stored on it."
Messages such as Microsoft Launcher not responding, etc. also keep occurring.
It is also not possible to send an error message to Microsoft via the smartphone in Info. An error message appears that it cannot be sent "Submission failed".
This means that the Surface Duo 2 has been 100% unusable since yesterday.
I have heard from various media that there were serious problems with the functionality of the update.
Resetting WLAN, mobile data and Bluetooth does nothing. It took several attempts because the system crashed before I even got into the system settings. Unfortunately, the launcher, for example, still cannot be started.
I use a seprate VPN app (NordVPN); uninstalled this app and the update issue disappeared (at least until now).
Other issue is that the battery level is reducing very fast now, even if the DUO 2 is not used and all background apps are deleted; 50% in 6 hours.
Connection with Windows is consuming 10% of it. So i have stops this proces also. Launcher is also consuming a lot of energy.
When you say "I reset my Wi-Fi, Mobile & Bluetooth, .." what exactly did you do?
Do you mean you mean (my system is german, so I try my best to translate) "Reset WLAN, mobile data & bluetooth" under "System - "Options for reset"?
If so, does this delete all saved WiFi networks?
