The random shutdowns are more than annoying. They render the Surface Duo in the unreliable category. People need to have reliable cell phones for critical communications.
Surface Duo shutdown when not in use
Hi everbody,
since about two weeks I`m a proud owner of Surface Duo and it's doing really fine.
The only topic I've found: everytime the Duo is not in use for hours (e. g. over night) it shuts down itself.
When it is in use it works proberly.
Does anyone else has such a problem?

I made a factory reset but the issue is still the same.

If the Surface Duo is shutting down, please first make sure the device has the latest update. Go to Settings > System > System Update > check for updates.
If the issue continues, you can Factory Reset the device, after backing up your information first. Settings > System > Reset Options > Erase All Data (Factory Reset).
