Battery drain overnight while shutdown

Lately, after I shutdown (full shutdown, not sleep or hibernate) my fully charged Surface Laptop 2 at night, I turn it on in the morning and find that the battery has lost around 25% power overnight! What's going on and how can I fix this?

The laptop is only about 6 months old and the battery seems to be in good health.

Thanks for the heads up. Sounds great. You can test the 75% issue by just doing a (real) reboot or even better: shutting down your Surface with being unplugged. Overnight is not neccessary. Maybe you could do that for us. No standby or hibernate. Just shutting it down while unplugged and then starting it again still being unplugged. Just takes 1 minute. Thanks.

I can't tell you about the 75% issue, as I leave my SP6 plugged in overnight. I had a correlating issue however in which when I unhook in the morning my battery would read 100% for an hour, and then proceed to drain at an insane speed, leaving me with only 2 hours of battery life. This has been fixed completely with the new Insider update and I've done around 4 battery cycles so far.

Rory, did this update fix the 75% battery issue? Does your battery last longer now overall? Please tell us. Thanks!
