Hi, just recently installed the Windows 10 May update on my Surface Book 2. Now the GPU disappears randomly while in use. The only solution is to reboot the Surface Book 2, or go into the device manager and initiate a scan for the GPU to come back again. It has Nvidia Gforce GTX 1050 version 23.21.13.9140
Are there any plans for Microsoft to release an updated driver to fix this bug?

I also think perhaps some sort of compensation could be due, most of us affected bought a high end laptop because we want to work with graphics. I use mine for editing Photos in LR and Photoshop. I am not a professional photographer but photograph local events that are run by other volunteers also as a volunteer and have two big local events coming up end of August and September. I have always loved my surface devices. Looks as though I will be using my 2017 surface book that i used for our farming business to edit photos if they cannot fix the issues. It really is not good enough to have to wait for so long for a fix for something none of us caused!
Microsoft has been aware of this situation for months now - which is terrifying, considering the dedicated GPU edition of the Surface Book 2 is a premium addition for creatives, who use software that requires it to function adequately.
Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Illustrator, InDesign, they all utilise the GPU.
I have had a few tweets with @Windows exchanged, who did confirm that they were aware of the issue, but with no avail as to an ETA for a fix. I am unable to roll back to a pre-May update as you can only roll back updates less than ten days old. I've been bugging MS since May, and they said they're working on a fix. It's now near September, and we've nothing. I provided @Windows with my Windows build info, Surface Book 2 spec but had no response after that.
I've tried multiple methods that have been suggested online with zero success.
The only solution I have is to revert to the default company image of my machine and disable Windows Update, which itself is a massive security risk and I am very, very reluctant to do. This is costing me productivity and money. Microsoft bricked my GPU and are being slow to fix it.
I think we deserve some compensation for this debacle, as spending 5 MONTHS to fix this is beyond unreasonable.
My Surface Book 2 info:
Yeah Janet that was my initial experience with Surface tech support as well. When I talked to the first support tech, I kept telling him 'SB2 GTX 1060 GPU failure and blue screen', but he kept repeating 'oh, so a Real-time C++ visual basic runtime library problem!'
Anyway he finally got a clue, and transferred my call over to the Surface support group. The Surface tech guy that ended up helping me was very good, and he tried to fix the problem remotely but I think eventually somebody on his side clued him in that reloading drivers and firmware wasn't going to solve the problem. So my service call ended up with the Surface tech saying "Well I'm told that a group of people in the Surface division are aware of this and working hard to fix it, so sit tight for a week or two and let me know when the update arrives to fix it. There should be something available very soon'. That was about two weeks ago, and I'm still waiting for an update to the GPU driver.
