Hi, just recently installed the Windows 10 May update on my Surface Book 2. Now the GPU disappears randomly while in use. The only solution is to reboot the Surface Book 2, or go into the device manager and initiate a scan for the GPU to come back again. It has Nvidia Gforce GTX 1050 version 23.21.13.9140
Are there any plans for Microsoft to release an updated driver to fix this bug?

There are some updates that were pushed to PRODUCTION today https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4055398/surface-book-2-update-history You do NOT need to join Insiders to get these.

The following updates are available for all Surface Book 2 devices running Windows 10 April 2018 Update, version 1803 or greater:

I tested the nvidia drivers with both windows version too and can concur that it the driver works. I'm really starting to question though, whether it's the supporting updates that follow the initial 1903 update, because as I've stated. I rolled back and then reinstalled 1903 BUT stopped the proceeding updates and the gpu(1060) is working fine. So I think there is an update in the multi that you download after the initial 1903 update that is causing the issue?
Thanks for forwarding this.
In the meantime, I did the experiment to deactivate the integrated GPU in device manager. Unfortunately, that does not fix the issue. The dGPU still reliably disconnects when I start any software that uses the GPU.
BTW: Here is the entry associated with the dGPU disconnect that is logged in eventvwr:

Let me emphasize that this is not due to the latest nvidia driver, as exactly the same happens with the latest official Surface Book 2 drivers released by MS and distributed via Windows Update.
Also, I happened to get my hands on another Surface Book 2, identical HW like mine, however this one was still on Windows 1809. I installed both the same nvidia Driver as well as Adobe Premiere Pro in the same version. So, it's exactly identical except that it's 1809 vs. 1903. Guess what: the dGPU on this one works like a charm. Definitely an issue with 1903.
And finally, note that the users reporting this issue in this thread are not alone. It is widely reported on the Web since more than three weeks:
