Surface Book 2 GPU Driver disappears randomly after May 2019 update

Hi, just recently installed the Windows 10 May update on my Surface Book 2. Now the GPU disappears randomly while in use. The only solution is to reboot the Surface Book 2, or go into the device manager and initiate a scan for the GPU to come back again. It has Nvidia Gforce GTX 1050 version 23.21.13.9140

Are there any plans for Microsoft to release an updated driver to fix this bug?

Thank you for reporting the issue. A fix is available through Windows Update.

This thread was marked 'Answered' long ago.  I don't know who from Microsoft is actually looking at this unfortunately.

The Feedback Hub (windows-F shortcut) has multiple entries on this issue.  If you haven't already, upvote the relevant entries.  It is also one of only two remaining issues that are not mitigated or resolved for 1903 on the Windows Health dashboard.  (https://aka.ms/WindowsReleaseHealth)

With no communication from Microsoft, even for a large Enterprise customer like the company for which I work, we are left with no choice but consider other vendors and deprioritize our MixedReality and HoloLens development (we need 1903 for MR features and have 2 SB2's dedicated to a project that is was cancelled last week).  I am stunned by the silence and lack of attention to this problem.  We definitely won't be purchasing Microsoft hardware in the near future.

My concern is, hypothetically they fix the gpu issue, there is no mention of throttling anywhere... it just says the gpu disconnects... throttling down to 400MHz is a major issue. I reproduced it for their advanced tech support teams a dozen times on multiple clean installs and hardware replacements as far back as March/April. Still not acknowledged.

Instead of switching to Apple, I'd instead stick to a non-MS/Apple brand, like Aorus, Lenovo, PCSpecialist or Razer (in that order) who use OEM graphics cards that won't be bricked by the OS.

I've got a desktop and laptop which remain unaffected by any updates in terms of performance/usability/drivers.

You've had it significantly worse than most of us Mysteryyy.

    I am gutted for you!

Problem is Windows is riddled with bugs. Its not just a Surface hardware issue. Its an OS/software issue too. Microsoft got rid of their testing team and instead decided to use its customers as beta testers/guinea pigs. Despite all the failed OS launches/upgrades, you think they'd learn and get their testing team back in-place. They are being stubborn. Are we placing bets whether the 19H2 release is going to fail/have major issues? Because it seems every single Windows 10 upgrade including and from 1803 has had significant issues... including some hot fixes / monthly security updates...
