I'm tired of all these issues now. At first, a few days ago, I was working on this laptop and it shut down randomly. I switched it on, but again it shut down randomly. In 20 minutes, this happened thrice. I tried something, and then it worked fine for a day. Then today again, it is happening. The diagnostic kit says there's nothing wrong. Please help.

Did you ever get this resolved?  I purchased my SurfacePro 7 last December and having the same issued.  If it is idle for more than 10 seconds it shuts down.  Just started out of nowhere.

That was the only solutions that works properly for my surface pro 7: Turn off Intel Turbo Boost (https://surfacetip.com/disable-turbo-boost-on-surface/)

    1. I'm an unpaid volunteer and do not work for Microsoft. If you want background on what a Microsoft MVP is, see https://mvp.microsoft.com/en-us/Overview and for Volunteer Moderators see https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/page/faq#faqWhosWho1

    1. There was a step I asked you to try before reimaging. You stated you didn't want links to multiple solution possibilities to try, so Option 2 .. Reimaging is skipping to the final step.

It's pretty sad when a company can't even fix their own devices! I have been a Surface Pro advocate for many years, however the last few years it has been plagued with issues over and over again and what do we get from Tech support or service? NOTHING! Oh, wait, do a full restore, yeah like ANY OF US want to do that. What's sad is a workaround is here and does work for some https://appuals.com/surface-pro-7-random-shutdown/ This was found by, NOT THE COMPANY that has thousands of employees at their disposal, but someone else. THanks for your continued support Microsoft, or should I say lack of....
