I'm tired of all these issues now. At first, a few days ago, I was working on this laptop and it shut down randomly. I switched it on, but again it shut down randomly. In 20 minutes, this happened thrice. I tried something, and then it worked fine for a day. Then today again, it is happening. The diagnostic kit says there's nothing wrong. Please help.

So I got my new Surface Pro 7 at the end of April 2020. Two days days later I started having the exact same issue. Sometimes it would shutdown multiple times in a row. I went through all of these threads and researched this issue and even tried updating the drivers(with no success). There apparently hasn't been a firm update/patch to fix this issue (yet). However, I discovered a what seems to be a great work around on notebookcheck.net. I downloaded Intel Graphics Command Center from Microsoft Store, and disabled Panel Self Refresh. This setting is under System>Power>Panel Self Refresh (Battery & Plugged In Tabs). My Surface Pro 7 has not turned of randomly or froze up once since I changed this setting. I really hope this may help individuals having these issues until a firm update comes out.

I have the same problem. The system shuts down abruptly if I leave it for few seconds idle. Very disappointed bought this device Dec 2019. Do not know what to do. Even worse now one is listening at Mircrosoft. I regret my first purchase of an Microsoft Device.

I don't know if you haven't, but I suggest everyone request technical support from Microsoft at https://support.microsoft.com/es-us/contactus/. I just did it, and after saying No to all the questions, I was able to chat with a technician. She took the Surface control, review it, and made some adjustments whose results I will see once my battery is gone. I will post what happens.

I urge you to do this because that will give feedback to the tech people at Microsoft that there is a problem. The more people who contact them, the more probability that they will solve the problem quickly.

I think we need to reach out to some YouTube reviewers. This is unbelievable.
