From what I have seen, as soon as you go from 23H2 to 24H2, scanning is broken.

Dear Microsoft,
Please before you push out a cumulative update do your due diligence and make sure it will not ruin critical functions. Many scanner products will not scan anymore and pop up with a WIA no friendly name error. Currently my company is having problems with Fujitsu scanners. We need this resolved quickly to avoid service disruption; what is your eta on a permanent fix for this that ISN'T rolling back the OS to the previous version. Due to vulnerabilities our security (rightly so) will not allow us to revert.
We do have a company that seems to be working (Epson) this may be a good place to start your troubleshooting as to why this isn't working with other companies (brother, ricoh to name a few). I am under the gun here from my CIO and this needs to be resolved or at least a workaround found asap.

2025-01-23T01:24:52+00:00 I was hopeful there for a minute, however no, CC4 still fails to scan.
Since this issue arose, I have been using Irfanview File | Select Scan/Twain device and File | Scan/Batch scanning successfully with my MFC-470DW for scanning. It is working without issue, as is the MS tool Windows Picture Acquisition Wizard.

2025-01-22T21:51:21+00:00 Simply put, Windows 11 24H2 no longer allows you to scan to a file from external hardware like a MFC printer/scanner. You have to request the scan from the PC. Go to Microsoft Store and download their SCAN app for your PC. We have a dozen MFC printers and as the upgrades were installed they all lose connectivity with the assigned PC's listed on the printer console. Others are scanning to a thumb drive and walking the file to the PC. A "heads-up" or "fore" would have been helpful.
