Hello Teams Community,

I have a user who reported this issue to us.

He was trying to schedule a teams meeting on Outlook but he cant find the Team meeting option button.

Hi

Same issue. When I try do the add in it takes me to an office explorer "save file" page to manually save the add in but always errors when I try and save it.

What %#$& update killed this as have always had that add in active in my MS linked apps? How do I resolve this?

I had this recently, I went to files>options>add-ins and the Teams meeting add-in was showing as disabled. If you choose manage disabled addins at the bottom and click go you can turn it on then restart outlook. This worked but a few mins later I got an alert saying it had been disabled again because it delayed opening a meeting request by 0.7secs, when I clicked on the alert I got an option to always enable this addin which I chose and now it seems to be working ok

The above options do not fix all situations. In my case, Outlook disabled Teams add in for slow performance. If this happens follow these steps.

In Outlook, choose File

In the main window, click on "Manage COM Add-ins" button next to "Slow and Disabled COM Add-ins"
NOTE: You will likely see the Teams add-in listed as disabled for slow performance,

Click on the "Options" drop down

Select option to "Always enable this add-in"

May need to Close/Restart Outlook

This will enable Teams add-in and prevent it from being disabled for slow performance in the future.

Does this problem only happened in this specific users?

If you still don’t see the add-in, make sure that it isn’t disabled in Outlook.

In Outlook, choose File and then Options.
Select the Add-ins tab of Outlook Options dialog box.
Confirm that Microsoft Teams Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Office is listed in the Active Application Add-ins list
If the Teams Meeting Add-in is listed in the Disabled Application Add-ins list, select COM Add-ins in Manage and then select Go…
Set the checkbox next to Microsoft Teams Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Office.
Choose OK on all dialog boxes and restart Outlook.

Step 4 will not work.

In Manage, select the drop-down, select Disabled Items and click Go.

In Disabled Items dialog box, select every entry which has teams anywhere in the line (Press Ctrl key to select multiple entries

Click Enable

Change Dropdown to COM Add-Ins and click GO

In the COM Add-ins dialog box, ensure "Microsoft Teams Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Office" and "Microsoft VBA for Outlook Addin" are both checked

Other items may also checked. Click OK

For the settings change to take effect, all open Outlook windows must be closed.

After waiting around 30 secs, relaunch Outlook

Select Calendar and then the Home ribbon will now have the "New Teams Meeting" icon

P.S. Microsoft VBA for Outlook Addin is needed so that link to join a meeting is the nice 2Click here to join the meeting" and not a long ugly URL link

In the COM Add-ins dialog box it shows no add-ins.

The new MS Teams is not integrating with MS Office Outlook meeting scheduling window. We have to install Classic Teams which worked perfectly.

FIXED!

After trying various suggested fixes I resolved this by disabling the existing Teams add-in in Outlook (File - Options - Add-Ins - Manage at the bottom), then manually adding the older DLL version which for me was located in:

C:\Users%UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\TeamsMeetingAdd-in\1.24.13006\x64\Microsoft.Teams.AddinLoader.dll

This wasn't visible through the COM add-in browser for some reason so I had to find the correct DLL in Explorer and paste in the path and file name. It shouldn't be this difficult!

I had a similar issue when migrating to a new work laptop. My instance of "Microsoft Teams Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Office" was already active so the current answer didn't help.

The following steps put the Teams Meeting option back on my ribbon:

Click File
Click Options towards the bottom sidebar
Click Quick Access Toolbar about three quarters of the way down the sidebar
Click the drop down under Choose commands from: and change it to Home (Calendar Table View) Tab (mine defaults to Popular Commands)
Scroll through the options until you see New Teams Meeting (sorted alphabetically)
Select New Teams Meeting then click the Add >> button between the two tables

This should add the New Teams Meeting option to your ribbon in the calendar view/tab AND add a Teams Meeting group to your ribbon while in a meeting maker.

Thanks Ian - you found the hidden command ;-), unfortunately it didn't solve the issue - I can see the command but its greyed out. I also tried adding it to the Ribbon. You need to create a custom tab for some reason and than add the Teams command. The command than appeared but was greyed out - so I still don't have access to create teams meetings in Outlook, when I did have this with my work account on the same laptop. Whe n I try and repair I get t the message "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable - It's on my C drive!

I had the same problem, but it was the version of Teams that was the problem. I had searched the Microsoft site and found teams for work & school, installed it and it let me log into my work Teams account, but would not bring up the Teams icon. Outlook apps/add-ins showed no Teams at all - not enabled, not disabled, nothing. So I uninstalled both old Teams and the new one (right-click-uninstall on the Start menu, not Control Panel/Programs and Features). Then logged into my office365 account on the website. Navigated to the web-based Teams app. Clicked on "..." at the upper right of that app and selected "download desktop app". This time it came as a .exe, not an MSI file. Ran that and the icon showed up in Outlook.

Worked for me.

Before that though I also removed my account cache under %appdata%, that being:
AppData\Roaming\Teams
AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Teams After downloading and installing the desktop app from teams.microsoft.com, I now have two versions installed.

Microsoft Teams Classic
Microsoft Teams (work or school)

And I also did the install of Office from being signed in at office.com, then downloading the PC app from the "Install and more" menu at the top right.

So now I have both the old and new Teams, and the old and new Outlook .
Teams Meeting has returned as an option in a new meeting in both offices!

Aside from all my lists at the left being double-spaced and having to scroll way more, I think everything's working and I'll be "fine" now.

(Seriously though, what's up with list items being spaced like that, and list categories being too visually similar to list items? Same with OneNote. That really should have a "compact" option because forcing to be "expanded" is just garbage.)

Among the other answers, please also ensure that you are running the proper version of Teams. There are two different Teams apps:

One for home and small business

One for work and school

Please be sure to install the proper version. In my case, it was Teams for Work or School. The user had logged into Teams for home due to it being the version that is integrated into Windows 11, and their chats were not syncing and they did not have the 'New Teams Meeting' button appearing in their Outlook.
