I purchased a product key late last month from JB HI-FI, they then wrote the code for my product key on the physical receipt that we received on the day, when signing into Office 365 we lost that receipt that the product key was written on. We then visited JB HI-FI the week after and asked if they could contact Microsoft they said they can. we waited for 2 weeks still no word, so we visited back again and they have finally contacted you and they have given us another physical receipt from the day of purchase, and said they couldn't give us another product key but we could contact you ourselves if there is a way to get that product key back.

Thank You.

Hi @Ioane Niue

Sorry about the runaround with this. The good news is you may not need that key anymore.

  1. Check if it was already used. If you entered the key before losing the receipt, it's now linked to your Microsoft account for good. Sign in at https://account.microsoft.com/services with the email you use for Office. If Microsoft 365 shows there with an expiry date, you're all set and the key isn't needed again.
  2. Also check your inbox for a confirmation email from Microsoft around the day you set it up. That's another sign it went through.
  3. If it wasn't redeemed, contact Microsoft support at https://support.microsoft.com/contactus. Choose Microsoft 365, keep going past the articles to Contact Support, and pick chat. Have the new receipt ready with the store name, date and amount. Keys sold in stores are activated by the retailer, so Microsoft can't always look them up, but it's worth asking with your proof of purchase.
  4. If Microsoft can't recover it, go back to JB Hi-Fi and let them know. With your receipt, they may be able to offer an exchange or refund under their policy.
