I HAVE the same issue with this email address :

ã…¤@hotmail.com,

It's on all my incoming and is attached to emails that I am familiar with as if it has 1st access and responce capabilities. The last time this happened I had identity theft on all my social media and bank cards with this email attached to it. I want to know exactly who this person or entity is!!!?

    Hello,

    Check your email forwarding Rules:

Open a private browsing window and paste the link below.

    https://outlook.live.com/mail/0/options/mail/forwarding

If 'Email forwarding is enabled,' turn off the enable forwarding toggle.

Then, go to Mail > Rules.

If you see any hidden rules you didn't create, delete them.

In addition to these Outlook email settings, it is important to improve your account security by setting a Strong password and enabling two-factor authentication.

To do that, sign in to the Security Settings Page with your Microsoft account.

    Security Settings Page

    • Expand the password section and click View Activity.
    • See if there are an unusual activity in your account
    • Then, reset your Microsoft account Password. Go back to the Security settings page and
    • Turn on two-step verification.

If 2FA is turned ON, you will have to Verify Your Identity using two methods. So, ensure you have at least three methods of verification to prove your identity.

And, on the same security settings page of your Microsoft account, scroll down until you find the 'Sign out everywhere' option.

Microsoft will sign you out of all trusted devices within 24 hours.

After 24 hours, sign out and sign in to your Microsoft account with your new Password on Outlook on the web. It is recommended to clear your browsing history, cache and cookies as well.

Let me know if you still need more help.

If that address is appearing with messages from trusted senders, check for mailbox tampering first.

    1. In Outlook.com on a computer, open Settings.
    2. Go to Mail > Rules and delete any rule that was not created intentionally.
    3. Check Forwarding and IMAP and remove any forwarding or transfer settings that are not recognized.
    4. Go to the Microsoft account site, open Your info > Sign-in preferences, and review aliases. Remove any alias that is unfamiliar.
    5. Open Security and review Manage how I sign in or Advanced security options. Remove any unrecognized verification email address if it appears there.
    6. Review recent sign-in activity at the recent activity page to check for unusual access.
    7. Change the account password and make sure two-step verification is enabled.

If the unfamiliar address appears only during verification and is not listed in account settings, use the Microsoft Sign-in helper.

For suspicious or spoofed messages in Outlook, be cautious with messages that show an unverified sender or a different actual sender address than the From address. In Outlook and the new Outlook on the web, hovering over the sender can show the actual email address.

For identity-theft exposure, Microsoft Defender identity theft monitoring can help determine whether an email address was exposed in a breach.

The available guidance does not provide a way to identify exactly who owns that address.
