Unistall 365 so i can install 2024

I purchased Microsoft 2024. I had 360 and i unistalled it and installed the new version. Unfortunately, when i go to open a file, it still opens as a 365 file. I can only read it. What do I need to do to get rid of 365?

Hi,

To isolate the issue and determine what may be causing the problem:

Are you using a Mac or Windows? If you’re using a Mac, what version of macOS are you using?

Did you purchase the subscription directly from Microsoft?

i am on a mac and it is the most current version. i purchased it on groupon

Thank you for the reply. This issue usually occurs when Office has not been completely uninstalled. There may still be remnants of the previous Office installation, which can cause the old Office version to continue appearing.

You can use the Office License Removal Tool to remove the old Office license from your Mac.

After that, sign in with your Microsoft account to install Office Home 2024 again then sign in to the same account to activate it.
