Hello Tymoteusz Dettlaff,
The account shown under Other users is a Windows profile stored on the PC, while the email is the Microsoft account previously linked to it. The profile remaining does not necessarily mean the online account can still be recovered.
I recommend trying the following:
- Do not remove the old account, reset Windows, or delete its folder. First use the Microsoft Sign-in Helper and check the exact spelling and domain of the email. Also try any phone number, Skype name, or other email alias previously linked to the account.
- If another administrator account is accessible, sign in to it and immediately copy the important files from C:\Users\OldUsername to an external drive. If access is denied, right-click the old folder, select Properties > Security > Advanced, and change its owner to the current administrator.
- Create a new local administrator account, sign in once, then copy your documents, pictures, desktop files, and other personal data into the new profile. Do not copy hidden system profile files.
For further investigation into the account’s status, try contacting Microsoft Support. Since this is a user-to-user forum, we cannot access or review account details.
Please note that Support agents may be able to check the account’s status and advise on the available recovery options, but they cannot bypass the required ownership verification.
Here's how to reach out to the Microsoft Support Team (live chat):
- Go to: https://support.microsoft.com/home/contact
- In the search box, enter a short description of your issue, then choose "Get Help"
- Scroll down and select Sign in to contact support (please sign in using a personal Microsoft account). Then follow the on-screen prompts to reach Support Team.
Tips:
- Support chat availability may vary by country/region, product, and support hours. If you can't get in touch with a chat agent right away, trying again later or at a different time may help.
- If the support page directs you to the automated assistant, type “I need a live agent” in the chat.
Hopefully your issue will be sorted out soon Thank you so much for your patience!
