I have purchased a new microsoft 365 package from amazon but believe I have linked it to the wrong email/account.I am unable to download and open word documents and that email address is showing on my one drive,how do I correct this ?

If the Microsoft 365 package from Amazon has already been redeemed to the wrong Microsoft account, unfortunately, it cannot be transferred to a different Microsoft account.

If you specifically need the subscription under a different Microsoft account, you would need to check with Amazon about their refund or replacement options.

Does Microsoft 365 appear on the https://account.microsoft.com/services page under the wrong email address?

Microsoft 365 subscriptions are tied to the account used when the product is redeemed or activated. If the Amazon purchase was linked to the wrong account, the practical fix is to stop using that account for the subscription and use the correct one instead.

Steps:

Check which account currently has the subscription.
- Open a Microsoft 365 app such as Word.
- Go to File > Account.
- Confirm which email address is shown there.
- That is typically the account currently associated with the Microsoft 365 license.
If the product key has not been redeemed yet, redeem it with the correct account.
- For Office for home products, go to https://setup.office.com.
- Sign in with the Microsoft account that should own the subscription.
- Complete the redemption steps.
- The account is successfully associated when the My Office Account page appears with that Microsoft account email address and an install button.
If it was already redeemed to the wrong account, it cannot be merged or moved between personal and work/school accounts.
- Personal Microsoft accounts and Microsoft 365 work or school accounts cannot be merged.
- If the wrong account is a different account than intended, there is no supported transfer process in the provided guidance.
If the wrong email is appearing because the same email exists as both a personal and work/school account, rename the personal Microsoft account alias.
- Go to the Manage how you sign in section of the Microsoft account.
- Set another existing address as primary, or add a new alias and make it primary.
