Hello, I have been trying to purchase Microsoft 365 on multiple occasions yet despite being registered as adult and parent/guardian on my Microsoft family, the message “you need to be older” still comes up each time I attempt to purchase Microsoft 365, how do I fix this?

    Good day Sophie,

I understand that your account is shown as an adult and family organizer, but purchasing Microsoft 365 still gives the “you need to be older” message. This usually means the account’s age verification or an older Family Safety restriction has not been updated correctly.

Please try the options below and check whether the issue continues:

    1. Sign in to your Microsoft account profile and confirm that your date of birth and country/region are correct. If available, also check Your info > Profile info > Age verification and complete the verification.
    2. Open Microsoft Family Safety and check whether another organizer has placed purchase restrictions on your account. It is recommended that you remove any remaining restriction before trying again.
    3. Sign out of Microsoft websites, clear your browser cookies, then retry the purchase in an InPrivate or Incognito window.

If the message remains, please contact Microsoft Support so they can check your account’s age status and purchase eligibility. As this is a user-to-user forum, we cannot view or correct the age status stored on your account.

Here's how to reach out to the Microsoft Support Team (live chat):

    1.  Go to: https://support.microsoft.com/home/contact
    2. In the search box, enter a short description of your issue, then choose "Get Help"
    3. Scroll down and select Sign in to contact support (please sign in using a personal Microsoft account). Then follow the on-screen prompts to reach Support Team.

    Tips:

    • Support chat availability may vary by country/region, product, and support hours. If you can't get in touch with a chat agent right away, trying again later or at a different time may help.
    • If the support page directs you to the automated assistant, type “I need a live agent” in the chat.

Hopefully your issue will be sorted out soon Thank you so much for your patience!
