Real-time voice or video communication between users on mobile devices or computers
To view the transcription for a Teams call or meeting:
- Open Teams.
- Go to Chat.
- Open the chat for that call or past meeting.
- Look for the recording link or open Recap if it appears.
- Select Transcript.
For meetings, after the meeting ends, the transcript is available in the meeting chat history. On mobile, transcript viewing is supported after the meeting ends, while live transcription is only available on Teams desktop.
For calls, the call chat shows:
- a link to the recording
- the transcript, if transcription was turned on
Important limits:
- A transcript is only available if transcription was started during the call or meeting.
- For calls, recordings are saved to OneDrive.
- For meetings with recording and/or transcription, live transcripts are stored in the meeting organizer's OneDrive for Business.
- In a call, only the person who started the recording can share or download it.
- If the transcript is not visible, either transcription was not started, or access is limited by organizer permissions or organization policy.
If the transcript is missing, check whether transcription was actually started during the session. If it was not started, Teams cannot show a transcript afterward.
