A Microsoft file hosting and synchronization service.
Try these steps in order:
- Update Windows
- Select Start, type updates, and open Check for updates.
- Install all available Windows updates.
- Update OneDrive
- Press Windows key + R.
- Enter
%localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\updateand select OK. - Double-click OneDriveSetup.exe to install the latest version of OneDrive.
- Restart the computer
- After Windows and OneDrive are updated, restart the PC.
If the issue is specifically error 0x80070005, OneDrive may not be updated correctly, or a Group Policy setting may be blocking Known Folder Move. In that case:
- Check the Group Policy setting
- Select Start, type
gpedit.msc, and open Local Group Policy Editor. - Go to User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Desktop.
- Double-click Prohibit User from manually redirecting Profile Folders.
- Set it to Not Configured, then select OK.
- Note: if this setting is enforced by an organization, the local setting will be overwritten.
- Select Start, type
