Using Outlook for Android for personal email and calendar management
If the account on both devices is IMAP, Outlook can sync email, but calendar and contacts do not sync through IMAP.
For calendar and contacts to sync between a PC and Android, the account needs to be added as Exchange / Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, not IMAP.
If using Outlook for Android and calendar or contacts are not syncing:
- In Outlook mobile, go to Settings.
- Tap the account that is not syncing.
- Tap Reset Account.
- If that does not help, go to Settings > account > Delete Account > Delete From This Device.
- Add the account again.
On Android device account settings, also check:
- Go to Settings > Accounts.
- Tap Exchange and select the email address.
- Make sure Sync Calendar is enabled.
Important:
- If the account is being set up as IMAP, only email sync is available.
- If prompted to choose an account type in Android mail setup, choose Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync to sync contacts and calendars.
- If Outlook mobile asks for IMAP/server settings, the provider may not support calendar and contacts sync for that account.
