If this is Microsoft 365 Family, it can be shared with up to five other people, and each person can install Microsoft 365 on all their devices and be signed in on five at the same time.
If the purchase was a one-time Office family/home product instead of a Microsoft 365 subscription, it can be installed on only one computer.
Try this:
- Sign in with the Microsoft account that was used for the purchase.
- Go to Services & subscriptions and find the Microsoft 365 purchase.
- Select Install.
- If this is a Microsoft 365 Family subscription and the second computer will be used by another family member, share the subscription first, then have that person sign in to their own Microsoft account and install from their account.
- If the product was bought from a retail store and has not been linked to an account yet, redeem the product key or code first at https://microsoft365.com/setup using the same Microsoft account.
- If the purchase was made directly from Microsoft, the download may also appear in Order history. Find the product and select Product key/Install.
Important:
- Microsoft 365 Family supports multiple people/devices.
- A one-time purchase of Office installs on only one computer.
- If only a download code was received from Best Buy, the code may need to be redeemed and linked to the Microsoft account before installation appears.
If Install or Product key/Install does not appear in the account, select the product name in Order history. If needed, reset Microsoft Store by running wsreset.exe from Start + R.
