Hi, I have attempted to sign into my Microsoft account with my emailhowever I have been unable to do so.I have went to your Microsoft recovery site but it has not worked due to me not being able to submit it. Primarily because I don’t know the accounts’ password and the field required to further get more data have not been helpful.I have a transaction id with my account to prove I’am the user of this account and all I need is either the password I used on the account or a way I can reset it and if it will actually work. Please do not direct me to your recovery page as it has been most unhelpful for getting account back. For example it tells me whether I have used my account for Xbox email or Skype I haven’t actually used any told them and so I can’t progress it. I’m currently using a different account just to send this to you.

I have attempted to sign into my Microsoft account ... been unable to do so.

Start with the Account Sign-In Helper and follow any suggestions it offers.

    • In a Private/Incognito browser session, open: https://aka.ms/sign-in-helper
    • Scroll down to "Choose how you normally sign in, then enter your details"
    • Click "With an email address"
    • Enter your email address and click [OK]

Please do not direct me to your recovery page as it has been most unhelpful

If the only Recovery suggestion is the Account Recovery Process, which you have not been able to complete, then I am sorry, but there are not any other options available.

I have a transaction id with my account to prove I’am the user

Microsoft Account Security is an automated process. Microsoft Support Agents can not unlock an account, reset your password, or change any Security Settings no matter what documentation you can present.

I am sorry. I know that losing access to your account is more than just an inconvenience, it can cause real hardships. I wish I could give you another answer.

A transaction ID cannot be used to retrieve the current password or bypass Microsoft account verification. Support agents also cannot send password reset links or change account details for a personal Microsoft account.

    The supported recovery path is:

    1. Start with the Sign-in helper.
      • Enter the email address or phone number for the account.
      • If the account is found, follow the steps it gives based on the detected issue.
    2. If the password is unknown, use Recover your account:
      • Go to Recover your account.
      • Enter the email address, phone number, or Skype name used to sign in.
      • If one alias is not recognized, try another email alias or phone number on the account.
      • Double-check the email domain, such as .com vs .co.uk, and spelling of the address.
    3. If verification options shown are not accessible, use the Microsoft account recovery form guidance:
      • A working email address is required so Microsoft can respond about the recovery request.
      • Microsoft reviews recovery form answers and responds within 24 hours.
    4. If the account shows “We couldn't find an account with that username” or the username is no longer recognized:

    Important limits:

    • If two-step verification is turned on and none of the alternate verification methods are accessible, the account cannot be recovered through support.
    • If the account has not been signed in to for more than two years, it may have been deleted and cannot be reopened.
