Publisher is sadly going away. How can I make greeting cards using clip art picture or my personal photos stored on my laptop?

    With Publisher going away, Microsoft does recommend using Word or Powerpoint as alternative to make cards. Using cliparts and your own photos are the same like how you uses Publisher. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/publisher/microsoft-publisher-will-no-longer-be-supported-after-october-2026

    However, I personally would also recommend Microsoft Designer https://designer.microsoft.com/

    It already comes with a Greeting Cards option

    Once you are int he edit mode, you will also find a lot of stock images options, you can also use AI to generate images, or upload your own to be used

    Publisher can still be used to make greeting cards until October 2026, and it supports both personal photos and picture-based artwork.

    A simple way to create one:

    1. Open Publisher.
    2. Go to File > New.
    3. Choose a card template:

    8. Edit the text by clicking in the text boxes and replacing the sample wording.
    9. When finished, use File > Print to print at home, or File > Export for PDF or other print options.

    Because Publisher is being retired after October 2026, Word is also a practical option for future greeting cards. Open Word > File > New, search for card, choose a template, and create the card there.
