I am trying to log into my Lenovo account using my Microsoft account but I setup 2FA with the Microsoft authenticator app when I created my Lenovo account for extra security. When I sign into my Lenovo account it is asking me to enter the code from the authenticator app but I cannot because no codes show up in my authenticator. How can I get around this step so I can access my Lenovo account to remove the 2FA? I have contacted Lenovo tech support for help and they were no help at all to me. Can anyone help me with this issue?

If you click your account in the Authenticator app it should show the code. Is it not the case?

When creating up my Lenovo ID personal account I used my personal Hotmail account. Then I added my Lenovo account to the authenticator app. I had to reinstall the authenticator app on a new phone because I lost my previous phone but when I logged into the authenticator app all my codes where gone. I followed the steps to recover my codes in authenticator which did not work. Is there a way I could access my Lenovo ID account without entering the authenticator code? or Is there another way to recover my authenticator app codes?

If Microsoft Authenticator is not showing the code, try these steps in order:

    1. Check whether the prompt or code is going to an older phone. If Authenticator was previously active on another device, the notification may still be sent there. If that old device is available, open Authenticator on it and approve the sign-in.
    2. On the current phone, make sure the Authenticator app is unlocked.
    3. Verify notifications are enabled for Microsoft Authenticator. Silent or disabled notifications can prevent the prompt from appearing.
    4. Make sure the app is updated to the latest version. Microsoft does not support Authenticator app versions more than 12 months old.
    5. Check connectivity. Switch between Wi‑Fi and mobile data, make sure Airplane mode is off, and if a VPN is enabled, disconnect it temporarily.
    6. Check the phone date and time settings and make sure they are correct.
    7. In Authenticator, open Settings and turn off battery optimization if that option is available.
    8. If the sign-in page offers another verification method, use it instead, such as SMS.

If the account is a personal Microsoft account, another recovery path is to use the security settings page to set up the identity verification app again: security settings page.

If none of the steps work, send Authenticator logs from the app by opening the top-level menu and selecting Send feedback. After that, contact Support for a personal account.
