A Microsoft file hosting and synchronization service.
For a frozen OneDrive account, the direct path depends on whether the account is personal or work/school.
- First, sign in to OneDrive with the same Microsoft account that received the frozen message.
- Check storage usage and get back under the storage quota by deleting files or buying more storage.
- After making changes, allow up to two hours for the account status to update.
- If the account is still frozen after four hours, use Contact Microsoft Support.
For personal Microsoft accounts:
- Use Contact Microsoft Support and enter the problem to reach technical support.
- On mobile, support can also be contacted from the OneDrive app by opening the app and gently shaking the device.
- For account and subscription help, use Account & Billing Help.
- Community support is also available through Microsoft Q&A, but avoid posting personal or sensitive information there.
If the issue is specifically tied to the recent Microsoft 365 Personal upgrade and the storage still has not updated correctly, the accepted support path is to go to the Microsoft support contact page, sign in, choose other products and technical support, confirm, and then choose OneDrive app support.
For work or school accounts:
- Contact the organization’s IT helpdesk, service desk, or admin.

The Microsoft Support Contact Page only directs me to help articles—no chat or callback options appear. The OneDrive app’s “Feedback” option doesn’t seem to generate a support ticket or provide any follow-up. I’ve also tried calling Microsoft’s customer service number (1-800-642-7676), but it simply redirects me back to the website and disconnects. I’m signed in with my Microsoft account and using OneDrive on Windows 11. I need direct assistance but can’t find any viable way to contact support. Can someone from Microsoft please advise on how to escalate this issue or connect with a live support agent? If chat and callback are no longer available for OneDrive personal users, what is the recommended path for resolving technical problems?
