Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
- Check whether this is a true duplicate charge in Microsoft order history. Sign in and review your order history for multiple purchases of the same amount close together: Review your order history.
- If only one charge appears in order history, check whether the same card is being used by another Microsoft account or a family member. Go to Microsoft account Payment options and select Investigate: Go to payment options.
- Also check Services & subscriptions to confirm the Microsoft 365 renewal status and whether recurring billing is active.
- If the charge is not recognized or still appears duplicated after those checks, use Microsoft support: Contact Microsoft Support, enter the problem, select Get Help, then Contact Support.
- If there is any chance the card details were compromised, contact the bank or payment provider immediately to prevent additional charges.
Possible reasons listed by Microsoft for what looks like a double charge include:
- a previously declined payment being retried and then succeeding close to the next on-time payment
- multiple subscription periods being purchased
- another Microsoft account using the same card
- recurring billing on a subscription
