Failed to add a laptop to OneDrive, serial number

Hello,

I bought a laptop yesterday, added it to my OneDrive, and then removed it for some reason.

Today, I want to add it back to my OneDrive, but I cannot because the serial number I entered isn't recognized; that is the message on the screen.

I checked the serial number again; it is the same number.

It worked perfectly fine, and the OneDrive files were downloaded yesterday. But I cannot add it today.

I don't know the reason. Can a device be added only once?

Please help. Thank you.

    Adding by serial number is only for Microsoft made devices, such as Surface laptop/tablet, or Xbox, etc.

    For OneDrive to work on your computer, you shouldn't have to add the device specifically. Just need to have OneDrive installed and signed in.

    Can you check to see if the OneDrive cloud icon is on the taskbar? If not, type the word "OneDrive" on the search on the taskbar and launch the OneDrive app, then sign in.

    Do you need the entire MIcrosoft 365 installed too besides OneDrive?
