Microsoft authenticator old email remove

To fully remove an old email/account from Microsoft Authenticator:

1. Open Microsoft Authenticator.
2. Select the old account.
3. Tap the Settings gear.
4. Tap Remove account.

If Remove account is not available or the account will not go away, remove all accounts by resetting the app data.

Android

1. Open the device Settings app.
2. Select Apps.
3. Select Authenticator.
4. Select Storage or Storage & cache.
5. Tap Clear data and then OK.

iOS

1. Open the device Settings app.
2. Select General then Storage.
3. Select Authenticator.
4. Tap Offload App.

Important:

• There is no undo when all app data is removed.
• All accounts will be removed.
• The device will no longer be usable to verify sign-in for those accounts until they are set up again.

If the old email is also still configured as a sign-in or verification method on the Microsoft account itself, remove it from the account security settings:

1. Sign in to the Advanced security options page of the Microsoft account.
2. Expand the verification option.
3. Select Remove, then select Remove again to confirm.

If all security information is removed from the Microsoft account, the account can enter a restricted state for 30 days.
