The server couldn't complete this action. Error Code: 0x803d0005

Try these checks in order:

1. Check whether the file is in Personal Vault Files in Personal Vault are private and can’t be shared. Move the Excel file to a folder outside Personal Vault, then try sharing again.
2. Check whether OneDrive is running on Windows If the OneDrive desktop app is not running, the Share option in File Explorer may not work correctly.
   • Look for the OneDrive cloud icon in the taskbar or notification area.
   • If it is not running, launch OneDrive and try again.
   • As a workaround, try sharing the file from onedrive.com instead of File Explorer or Excel.
3. Validate the Microsoft account Sharing can fail if the account needs validation.
   • Go to https://account.live.com/reputationcheck
   • Make sure the Microsoft account profile is complete and up to date, and accept the Terms of Use if prompted.
4. Check whether the sharing limit was reached Basic or “storage only” OneDrive has sharing limits. If the limit was reached, it resets after 24 hours.
5. If sharing from Outlook.com or email-based sharing fails After validating the account, open the Outlook.com People view, edit any contact, and save the change. This can help sharing by email. Changes can take up to 24 hours to resolve the issue.
6. If the file is on removable media or open elsewhere OneDrive may not be able to access the file if:
   • it is open in another program
   • it is on removable media such as a USB drive Save changes, close the file, confirm the file is on the local drive, and try again.
7. If using a work or school account by mistake Organizations can disable or restrict sharing. In that case, links may work only for people inside the organization, or the Share option may be restricted by admin policy.
