Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
If payment was already made on 31 Aug 2026 and the Microsoft 365 account still shows a red renewal/payment warning on 18 Sep 2026, first verify the subscription status on the Microsoft account Services & subscriptions page using the same Microsoft account that was used to renew.
- If recurring billing is on, the page shows the next renewal date.
- If recurring billing is off, the page shows the expiration date.
If the renewal is shown correctly there, but Office apps still show Renew your subscription or Subscription expired, close all open Microsoft 365 apps and open them again. Signing in again with the Microsoft account tied to the subscription may also be required.
If the warning is coming from an email rather than from the Microsoft account page or Office apps, treat it as suspicious. Scam messages often use awkward wording, odd date formats, strange phone-number spacing, and fake urgency. Do not call numbers in the message, click links, or open attachments.
If the account page does not show the paid subscription, the payment may be tied to a different Microsoft account or to another seller. In that case, check order history for the account used to purchase, and if needed contact Microsoft Support through the official support flow.
