Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Try this in order:
- Go to Services & subscriptions: https://account.microsoft.com/services
- Sign in with the Microsoft account that owns the subscription.
- Find the past-due subscription.
- If Pay now appears, select it and complete the payment.
- If Manage > Change how you pay appears, select it and choose the updated card or Add a new way to pay.
- If the subscription was bought through a third-party retailer, payment method changes must be handled through that provider instead.
- If Microsoft still does not accept the payment after the card was updated and the bank confirmed the card is valid:
- Sign out of active sessions.
- Try again in a private/incognito browser session.
- Refresh the browser, try another browser, or clear cached cookies.
- If the payment remains blocked, contact Microsoft Support through Contact Support and route the issue to Accounts and Billing.
Important details supported by Microsoft guidance:
- A past-due subscription can block normal payment method changes until Pay now is completed.
- If recurring billing is off, Change how you pay might not appear.
- Some banks require extra identity verification before a transaction is approved, so Microsoft account contact details should also be kept up to date.
- If payment was already submitted successfully, status notifications can take up to 24 hours to sync across services.
