Managing personal Outlook.com account settings, security, and privacy
Hello,
You may receive this error if your account has been temporarily blocked due to unusual activity. In most cases, the block is automatically removed within 24 hours, although it may take up to one week.
If you are still experiencing the same issue after two weeks,
-
- Connect your device to a different Wi-Fi network, such as a mobile hotspot. Then, open a private or incognito browsing window and use the following link to reset your password: https://account.live.com/ResetPassword.aspx. In some cases, the block may be associated with the specific network you are using.
- Try using a different browser or device to check whether the password reset works. And turn off any VPN if you've connected to one.
If the issue persists, complete the Microsoft Account Recovery form using the link below. If Microsoft verifies your account ownership, you will receive a password reset link at the contact email address you provide. Open the link directly to reset your password.
Remember to use a familiar device from which you've frequently accessed your Microsoft account, as well as a familiar location. Microsoft will review your responses and respond within 24 hours.
