    Hello,

You may receive this error if your account has been temporarily blocked due to unusual activity. In most cases, the block is automatically removed within 24 hours, although it may take up to one week.

If you are still experiencing the same issue after two weeks,

      1. Connect your device to a different Wi-Fi network, such as a mobile hotspot. Then, open a private or incognito browsing window and use the following link to reset your password: https://account.live.com/ResetPassword.aspx. In some cases, the block may be associated with the specific network you are using.
    1. Try using a different browser or device to check whether the password reset works. And turn off any VPN if you've connected to one.

If the issue persists, complete the Microsoft Account Recovery form using the link below. If Microsoft verifies your account ownership, you will receive a password reset link at the contact email address you provide. Open the link directly to reset your password.

Remember to use a familiar device from which you've frequently accessed your Microsoft account, as well as a familiar location. Microsoft will review your responses and respond within 24 hours.

For an Outlook.com or other Microsoft personal account, if changing the password from the normal Change your password page keeps failing, use the account recovery flow instead.

    1. Go to Recover your account.
    2. Enter the email address, phone number, or Skype name used to sign in.
    3. Choose where to receive the security code, then select Next.
    4. Enter the requested information and select Send code.
    5. Enter the security code in Verify your identity.
    6. Set a new password and confirm it.

If the current password is still known, the standard path is:

    • Sign in at https://account.microsoft.com
    • Go to Security
    • Select Change Password
    • Enter the new password and select Save

If sign-in or password recovery still fails, use the Sign-in helper or Contact Support. Support agents cannot send password reset links or directly change account details.
