Microsoft on-premises server product that runs Office Online.
For a past-due Microsoft 365 Basic subscription, use this path first:
- Go to Services & subscriptions: https://account.microsoft.com/services/
- Find the past-due subscription and select Pay now.
- Check the payment method on file. If the card is expired or incorrect, update it or add a new payment method.
- Select Next to complete the payment.
If the card is still rejected, the supported checks are:
- Verify the card details exactly match the card statement: card number, expiration date, name on the card, and billing address.
- Make sure there is no past-due balance blocking changes.
- If using PayPal, confirm it has a valid funding source.
- Because banks may apply fraud checks even when the card works elsewhere, confirm with the bank or payment provider that nothing is blocking this specific Microsoft transaction.
If Office apps show “ACCOUNT NOTICE. We've run into a problem with your Microsoft 365 subscription and need your help to fix it.”, that is often caused by a payment problem such as a declined or expired card. After updating payment information, restart the Office app.
If the issue continues after updating the payment method and trying Pay now, use Microsoft’s payment troubleshooting and support path from the payment issues page.
