Sorry to hear that you are having trouble with facial recognition. Windows Hello facial recognition normally needs to be configured first under:

Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options > Facial recognition (Windows Hello)

Could you please check that section and let me know what you see there? In particular:

    • Is Facial recognition (Windows Hello) available?
    • Does it show Set up, or does it display an error such as “We couldn't find a camera compatible with Windows Hello Face”?
    • Has facial recognition worked on this laptop before, or are you trying to set it up for the first time?
    • What is the exact make and model of your laptop?

If Windows Hello Face has already been configured, you normally do not need to manually open a camera box when starting the computer; Windows should attempt facial recognition from the sign-in screen. You can also select Sign-in options on that screen to check whether the face-recognition option is available.

Once you configured facial login in Settings > Accounts > Sign in options > Windows Hello Face, on the login screen, it would automatically start detecting your face. Once detected, it would automatically show a message like this:

    Face login is now enabled
