Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
- Try to regain access to the Microsoft account first. Use the Microsoft account sign-in help page and the account recovery options if sign-in is failing.
- After access is restored, go to Services & subscriptions and sign in with the same Microsoft account used to buy the subscription.
- Select Manage for the subscription.
- Select Cancel or Upgrade or Cancel.
- Follow the prompts.
- During cancellation, refund eligibility is determined automatically.
- Not all cancellations result in a refund.
- In most cases, a refund may be available within 30 days of the initial purchase or before the first recurring billing date, whichever is sooner.
- A refund of the most recent recurring billing charge may also be available if cancellation happens within 30 days after payment. This is limited to one time per Microsoft account, per subscription product.
- If Turn on recurring billing appears instead of Manage, the subscription is already set to expire on the shown date and no further automatic charge should occur.
- If a charge happened after cancellation, common reasons are:
- cancellation was made less than 2 days before the billing date, or
- the charge is tied to a different Microsoft account. In that case, review charges on the Manage your payments page.
- If access to the original account still cannot be restored, use Microsoft support for billing help and cancellation assistance:
- Contact Microsoft Support
- Or use the guided support tool: Start
If the subscription was purchased through Google Play, Apple App Store, or a third-party retailer, cancellation and refund must be requested through that seller instead of Microsoft.
