Hello Kirk Byars
Thank you for reaching out and I'm so sorry for your loss.
I also understand that currently Office is not working on your side at the moment, this could happen due to many reasons. First, please login to your husband's credentials if you have the information then go to account.microsoft.com/services and check for the subscription's billing information since it could be expired or need attention.
In case you do not have access to your husband's account, please follow: Accessing Outlook.com, OneDrive and other Microsoft services when someone has died
In case you still want to reach out to live chat service from Microsoft Support, please follow:
- Go to Contact Us - Microsoft Support
- Select Office 365
- Click Get Home Support
- Type a brief description of your issue in the search box.
- Click Get Help and select Contact Support below.
- Go to the Products and services tab and choose the appropriate product.
- On the Category tab, choose the appropriate category or an alternative option.
- Go to Confirm. Look for and select "Chat with a support agent in your web browser" (during business hours) if available. Explain your situation clearly.
I hope this information could help your situation, and please do let know if it works
